By combining our teams across Queensland, New South Wales, and the ACT — and operating under our own AFSL — we’ve created a dynamic insurance group that offers scale without losing the personal service our clients value.

Matthew J. Denehy
Founder & Director, Chief Executive Officer
Matthew Denehy is an accomplished insurance industry leader and entrepreneur with nearly 40 years of experience. Starting his career at 16 and launching his own family brokerage at 27, he successfully grew it from a startup to over A$15 million in turnover. In 2015 he joined a small Perth-based business delivering a strategy of growth and nationalisation. He led the business, driving significant growth and expanding gross written premium from A$10 million to A$200 million through organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and building and expanding an AR network. A passionate mentor and advocate for the craft brewing & distilling industry, Denehy is also active in positive mental health initiatives and industry engagement, frequently sharing leadership insights and supporting community events. Known for his resilience, strategic mindset, and people-first approach, he remains a key figure in shaping the future of insurance broking in Australia.
Jacob Ross
Founder & Director, Chief Operating Officer
Jacob Ross is a highly experienced insurance professional specialising in the SME and strata sectors. His previous experience in buying and selling insurance broking businesses and portfolios has allowed him to develop operational excellence with a technological flair. A 2016 “Young Gun” awardee by Insurance Business Australia, he began his career on the Central Coast (NSW), helped establish an insurance firm, managed portfolio transactions, and earned the Norm Dyer Award for Young Broker of the Year. Passionate about demystifying complex cover, he frequently authors guidance on strata and SME insurance, addressing topics like cyber risk and building safety. Jacob combines a sharp risk lens with practical client engagement to streamline coverage and drive operational innovation, positioning the firm for continued strategic growth.
Mark Hydes
Founder & Director, Chief Broking Officer
Mark Hydes is a highly respected insurance executive with decades of expertise spanning financial lines, property, and liability coverage. He excels in cultivating enduring partnerships with both clients and Authorised Representatives. With a reputation built on unwavering integrity, exceptional clarity, and an unwavering commitment to results, Mark is renowned for delivering reliable, tailored insurance solutions and fostering trust-based relationships across the industry. With a results-driven mindset, he excels in forging long-term, trust-based partnerships with clients and Authorised Representatives. With an extensive industry network, he is deeply embedded in the insurance community, leveraging his relationships to deliver tailored solutions and drive business growth across Australia.
Chris Murfin
Founder, Director & Company Secretary/Responsible Officer
Chris Murfin is a seasoned commercial insurance professional with over 35 years of experience including risk consulting and an extensive experience spanning both advisory and executive roles. Owning and running an insurance broking firm on the Sunshine Coast, QLD for 25 years after his corporate career in Melbourne, he also serves as Treasurer on the Council of Queensland Insurance Brokers board—bringing a strong governance perspective. His broad expertise enables him to see client challenges holistically, tailoring solutions that not only address current exposures but also build resilience for future risk. Chris continues this approach, delivering high-impact service that protects businesses today while strategically preparing them for tomorrow’s uncertainties.
